As you may know, anxiety and depression are more prevalent than ever in our society. A new study was just released saying that 55% of Americans feel stress, worry and anger about their lives right now. We know this well. This is because people seeking meditation for depression and anxiety relief are a big portion of our zivaFAMILY.
Mental health is so so important. And we believe it’s important to practice what you preach, which for us quite literally means that every employee at Ziva practices The Ziva Technique. Sometimes this means current Ziva Meditators come on board. But sometimes it means the ninja mind we needed to run behind the scenes also happened to be a meditation skeptic!
If you have learned to meditate within the last year and a half at Ziva, it’s fair to assume that Laura Sills had something to do with your experience.
Something you might not know? Laura has struggled with depression and anxiety for much of her life. She wanted nothing more than to find a way to help her brain without the use of medication. What she found did that and more.
Laura shares her story below.
As a note, working with your doctor or using prescribed medication is not a bad thing. We always recommend that anyone dealing with anxiety, depression or other mental health conditions consult a doctor or therapist. But meditation is a great addition for your self-care toolbox.
If you or someone close to you is feeling anxious or depressed, we’d be so honored if you’d watch or share this video where you’ll hear the rest of Laura’s story. It may be just the thing you’ve been searching for.
